WHY DO WE EAT TURKEY ON THANKSGIVING

INTRODUCTION

                Why in the world do we eat turkey on thanksgiving? To me, it's because it is so delicious, ha ha! Kidding aside, it is a tradition that most families follow. As you know it is close to Thanksgiving, which is why I thought about why people eat a lot of turkey at this time. So why do we eat turkey? To be honest, I have no clue about it nor does anyone else who is absolutely sure. But some people believe in theories about it. Like how the early settlement people in America kept letters and records about when they dined with the Wampanoag Indians to eat beef and fowl. Or how Queen Elizabeth inspired people to eat turkey instead of goose. Also, Ben Franklin thought the turkey was a native bird from North America so it should be the national bird. But people didn't agree and thought the eagle should be the one. So now the turkey only rules one day of the year during Thanksgiving. But I still think my opinion is correct! This topic of turkey relates to Thanksgiving because it is the main food that we eat to give thanks to God for everyone and everything in our lives.

                In my opinion, I think this a great topic to discuss because Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays, and turkey has been the main course of family meals for a lot of years. I will use google.com to further search for information on this topic. I think people will find it interesting why we eat turkey specifically on Thanksgiving because we're not really sure why we do it. I think that this topic is important for families to know.

MY OPINION

        In my opinion, I think hockey is the best sport on the planet. Hockey is my life and I will show you tons of reasons why I think hockey is great. First of all, only skilled players can play it. You need to skate, control the puck, and defend. To know you can do that makes you really proud of yourself. Another reason is that when you carry the puck and shoot or make a play you feel active and ready. Next, hockey is a really tough sport, and I'm always up for that challenge. Finally, I like it because I'm good at it. I'm sure you would understand if you were good at a sport or anything in life.
