INTRODUCTION

                                      AHHH! A TARANTULA! IT'S GOING TO KILL ME! Well did you know that tarantula's can actually relieve pain. It can cause a tremendous amount of pain but it can also help relieve it. Tarantula's have a bad history of causing deaths but they also have great benefits. Their venom actually is the key to the painkiller. According to the article by Mary Elizabeth Dallas it states ''Yale University researchers found that a specific protein in the venom of the Peruvian green velvet tarantula blocks activity in nerve cells that transmits pain.'' This demonstrates that tarantula's have a specific nutrient that can stop the cause of pain. Researchers found that tarantula toxin can help to. The researchers tested the toxin against one of the 12 suspected human pain channels. On the surface of nerve cells that sense pain, this channel is associated with swelling and nerve pain. But the researchers only found that one specific type of toxin was able to relieve pain and not affect or disturb any other channels on the surface of the nerve cells. So basically the venom and toxins have a certain protein that blocks motions in nerve cells that transmits into pain. Now they are being closely studied to maybe one day become a medicine used to cure pain.

MY OPINION

                        In my opinion I think that tarantula venom will not work as a medicine. I think this because although it does cure pain it can also kill you which is most likely to happen if you get bit. I think that people will like this topic because people would like to know how tarantula's can help your health.
