INTRODUCTION
Would it be fair to give students cash for their great grades? Can the students handle it or will they be responsible and be careful? The big question is should students get paid money for their grades. Currently, there is a debate going on if students should get paid for their high test grades. Some people believe they should not get it but other people believe that they clearly deserve it. According to the article it states ''70 percent of them scored high enough to qualify for college credit, compared with 50 percent before." This means that it actually helps students. Yes, I agree and I declare that students should get cash for their great test scores because it teaches kids to work for something, encourages kids to do better in school, and more students pass classes and get college offers.
SUPPORTING PARAGRAPH
My first reason was that it teaches kids to work for something that they want. The students want to get the money but they also have to work for it which this idea sparks off. Kids want to have a lot of money so they can buy stuff and this teaches them that they need to focus on their studies and do good in school in order to do that. My second reason was that it encourages kids to do good in school. In the articles it states “I had a boy last year who was your quintessential average rural student: always dressed in camo, his dad was a mechanic,” he said. “He signed up for A.P. statistics, I worked with him, and he came out passing the exam.” This demonstrates that it encourages kids to get better grades to get the cash. Without this kids are bored and have no interest in school but know they have something to motivate them to get better grades. Kids will also tend to not focus and take school less seriously but when they get paid they are encouraged to keep their grades high. My final reason was more students pass classes and get college offers. In the passage it states '' Brian Leonard, who teaches A.P. calculus and statistics at Lake Hamilton High School in Arkansas, earned the largest award, $12,500, because 65 of his students passed the exams. '' This means that when they pay the students for their high grades they can pass more classes and be more successful. The students want the money so they work harder. I still remember the time I was failing in my hockey when I was 7. I was not confident and I was so afraid to do anything. But my parents made a deal to me saying that I will get a toy every great game I had. Of course I played every game with my best effort and winded up being successful. By the way that was when I was 7 now I am great.
I know that some of you have complaints and counterarguments yourselves and I'm going to try to address them now. Well one of the reasons is that the kids aren't responsible and don't know how to properly use money. Well according to research of a similar argument it is the parents responsibility to take care of their children. If their kid buys a video game system that distracts them from homework it is the parents responsibility to teach them the right way to use it. The parents also have the authority to limit the amount of money they get. Another reason was they are encouraging their kids for the wrong reason. Well most likely if the kids want the money they will have to work for it right. If they want the money they have to like school which can also make their grades higher.

CONCLUSION
It is clear that students should be paid money for their high grades because it teaches kids to work for something, encourages kids to do better in school, and more students pass classes and get college offers. I claim that my side of the argument is correct because kids get better grades and they are more successful in school because of this method. In conclusion, students should get paid money for their good test scores.
