Easter Island Statues Belong to Aliens?

INTRODUCTION

                                   What happened to Easter Island and their people the Rapanui? Was it the aliens who built the statues or was it the R? Well all of this still remaims one of the greatest mysteries of all time. Currently, there is a debate going on about whether the Rapanui built the moai or did the ''aliens'' do it. Scientist believe it was the Rapanui who built the moai and some scientist believe it was the aliens. Scientist believe that the aliens came and invaded causing for everything to be destroyed and that they created the moai. But, I claim that it was the Rapanui who created the statues because Rapanui cleared their land due to bad government and civilization, they have many stone tools, and they used their resources to help the construction of the statues.

SUPPORTING REASONS

                           The first reason why I think that is beacuse they had bad government and civilization. According to the article by Sarah McCARRY '' The tribal chiefs competed aginst each other by ordering bigger and better statues.'' This demonstrates that the civlization wasn't greatly governed by the chiefs and this lead to their destruction. The article also states '' It also would be required cutting down many, many trees,'' This means that they needed trees to build the statues and without it they can't hunt for food in  the river. They must have built the stautes because they were so focued on building the statues.

                            The second reason was they had many stone tools. As said in Sarah McCARRY'S article it states ''The Rapanui were a Stone Age culture. They had only stone tools. So it took a long time to build one moai. This means that the Rapanui had the ability to craft the moai but it took a long time. Also the moai is made of different material than the ones found on there island. But they are explorers and as stated in the article they used wood sledges to carry the staues. They could have brought rock from their own land and bring it by the wood sledges on their jourey. They must have used there stone tools to craft it and made it out of their own rock. Or they used the stone tools to dig for more material.

                             The final reason was that they used their resources to help build the moai. In the article it states '' The rapanui used wooden sledges to move the staues.'' This means that they cut down trees in order to carry the statues. Another piece of evidence is that they had many rock material at that time to help them build the moai. Even the author stated that they were filled with many stone and rock materials. Although the rock is not found on that island there also could have been different rock at that time. Them using their materials lead to the destruction of themselves and their island because they wiped out all the resources that they needed to live.

CONCLUSION

                                 I think that it was the Rapanui who built the moai on Easter Island. I think this because they had bad government and civilization, they had many stone tools, and they used there resources to help build the moai. It's no doubt that the Rapanui lead to their own terrifying end and that they built the statue.
